This is my second year of baking gluten-free and low FODMAP holiday cookies, and it got me to thinking. I always like to try a new recipe or two each year to change things up. But it can be tough to find recipes for low FODMAP holiday cookies. So that’s why I asked a number of gluten-free bakers for help to bring you a collection of recipes for low FODMAP holiday cookies to try out.

The Best Low FODMAP Holiday Cookies
The following recipes are FODMAP-free or contain a FODMAP ingredient within the Monash guidelines. Note that butter and hard cheeses are acceptable to use. You can use a lactose-free brand of butter if you are lactose intolerant, but regular butter is OK on a low FODMAP diet.

Jam Thumbprint Cookies from Gluten Free on a Shoestring. You’ll want to use the strawberry jam as apricot is high in FODMAPs.
Chocolate-Dipped Coconut Macaroons from Strength and Sunshine.

These use almond flour, but as long as you eat six or fewer of the cookies you’re under the 1/4 cup of almond meal limit.

The Best Gluten-free Holiday Cookies
If you are in the reintroduction phase of the low FODMAP diet, you can consider trying one of these recipes, which are gluten-free but contain one or more FODMAP ingredient. I’ve also included recipes here that use an ingredient like milk or sour cream that you can easily substitute with a lactose-free version.
Gluten-free Rolled Out Cookies

These contain molasses which can be high FODMAP depending on if they are made from sugarcane, grapes, sorghum or beets (beets being high FODMAP).
Paleo Gingerbread Men Cookies (grain-free, gluten-free, dairy-free) from Texanerin.
Gluten-Free Vegan Penguin Brookies from Kitchen Window Clovers.
Gluten-Free Merry Christmas Cookies from Erika’s Gluten-free Kitchen.
These get their color and unique taste from honey which is high in FODMAPs.
Chocolate Fudge Stuffed Gingerbread from Kitchen Window Clovers.
The molasses and applesauce make these high in FODMAPs.
Gluten-free Drop Cookies
Gluten-Free Almond Holiday Drop Cookies from Ann’s Entitled Life.
These are made from almond flour which is only low FODMAP in less than 1/4 cup amounts.
Gluten-free White Chocolate Gingerbread Cookies from My Gluten-free Kitchen.
