Happy Friday everyone!
I took last Friday off from my weekly round-up because I suspected many of you were going to be hitting up the Black Friday sales or recovering from Thanksgiving dinner.
I was in the latter camp. For all my Thanksgiving preparation, I didn’t anticipate the turkey being an issue. But it was.
You see, halfway through dinner, one of our hosts casually mentioned putting a full can of beer in the turkey’s cavity. The way you might do with a beer can chicken.
I took the opportunity to remind him that I have a wheat allergy and a gluten intolerance.
I can’t say if it was the beer or if it was something else in the dinner, but I can tell you I had a very rough night and felt terrible for a few days afterward.
Bleh.
Gluten-free Holiday Cookies Incoming
Now that I’m on the mend, I’m starting to plan my annual holiday cookie baking. I always send out packages of gluten-free holiday cookies to my clients and friends around the start of December.
For this year’s gluten-free holiday cookies, I’m planning to work on a gluten-free biscotti recipe, and will be baking my gluten-free Madeleines, gluten-free chocolate shortbread, Merry Christmas cookies, and my gluten-free Chocolate surprise cookies, which I’ll be sharing with you in a few days!
What cookies will YOU be baking for the holidays? I can’t wait to see them.
